Dr. Robert Lopez

Optometrist

Since 1988, Dr. Lopez has been dedicated to private practice eye care, specializing in complex contact lens fittings. He founded both the Chicago Keratoconus Institute and Dry Eye Chicago, and serves as Director of Optometric Services at Advocate Illinois Masonic, providing consultations for refractive surgical procedures.


Dr. Lopez is also fluent in Spanish.

Office Manager

Karla has worked in the optical industry for over 15 years. After initially seeking a career in early childhood education following studies at Truman College, Karla discovered that her real passion lied in opticianry. She enjoyed the marriage of Art and the Science that an optical career offered, so she made the change and has never looked back.  She provides outstanding and caring customer service, and always with a smile.

She lives and enjoys spending time with her lovely daughter Kayla, who is officially off to college. Karla is fluent in Spanish.

Karla prepared my glasses for free, and was extremely kind about it. She made sure I understood the repair was not guaranteed, and gave me a realistic idea of whether or not she could fix it. She ended up doing a perfect job and my glasses are completely back to normal. They are about 0 glasses and I was extremely worried. I am in my early 50’s and this is the first time going to an eye doctor since I’ve always had very good vision until recently : / I have used readers the last few years, but I knew it was time to get my eyes checked and get the right type of reading glasses. The staff was super friendly and very helpful & fun helping me pick out just the right frames for my face! All of their equipment is state of the art and Dr. Lopez is so knowledgeable (and friendly!) and explained what was happening with my eyes in a way that was easy for me to understand. I also love that they are dog friendly! I would highly recommend this place !!
